Products from Smartbridges
The possibility of “unwiring our world” and enabling wireless Internet access across entire towns, states or even countries is a significant opportunity for carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Service Providers are using a mix of wired and wireless technologies to support the vision of “access from anywhere” for converged IP data, voice and video traffic.
In order to deploy large and scalable networks, carriers are demanding industry standards-based solutions. smartBridges has developed the Nexus platform on IEEE 802.11 a/b/g standards using COFDM technology. This award winning 3rd generation platform is a service-enabling, communications-grade wireless broadband delivery system with superior reliability, performance, scale, and density for the “last hundred miles”.

The smartBridges Nexus platform offers a full range of products that delivers seamless end-to-end connectivity and a feature-rich, scalable interface between subscribers and the backbone network. smartBridges’ intelligent wireless backhauls, access points and end-user client devices can be used to offer the widest selection of residential and commercial services, including high speed Internet access, IP telephony, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications.

WinLink™ 1000 Architecture
WinLink 1000 point-to-point solution is made up of a number of key components.
Each side of the link comprises of an Indoor Unit (IDU), Outdoor Unit (ODU) and an antenna. The link is managed via the WinLink 1000 Manager application.

The Indoor Unit (IDU)
The IDU provides the user with TDM and Ethernet ports to connect to the link on both sides. The IDU is available in two configurations:
- IDU-E – a half 19' 1U plastic unit, providing one Ethernet port and 0-2 E1/T1 interfaces. The IDU-E complies with FCC/ETSI/CSA standards and can be powered via 110-240VAC or -48VDC.
- IDU-C – a 19' 1U metal unit, providing two Ethernet ports and 4xE1/T1 interfaces. The IDU-E complies with FCC/ETSI/CSA standards and can be powered via redundant 110-240VAC, -48VDC and 24VDC.

The Outdoor Unit (ODU)
The ODU can be pole or wall mounted. It includes all radio components and connects to the IDU via a CAT5 cable. The different ODUs of the WinLink 1000 product family are available at various frequency bands and currently include the following options:
- 2.3 GHz
- 2.4 GHz (ETSI or FCC)
- 4.9 GHz (FCC)
- 5.3 GHz (FCC)
- 5.4 GHz (ETSI or FCC)
- 5.8 GHz (FCC)
The ODU comes in two different form factors:
-
ODU with integrated 1ft flat panel antenna (available for most frequencies).
- ODU with a connector for an external antenna.

Antenna
RADWIN offers integrated and external antennas in different gains, sizes and shapes for each of the frequency bands supported by WinLink 1000. Third party external antennas can also be used.

WinLink 1000 Manager
The WinLink 1000 Manager is an SNMP based element and link management application which manages a complete link via a single IP address. The intuitive, easy-to-use Manager has a graphical MS-Windows interface, and can be utilized locally and remotely.
WinLink 1000 Manager provides:
- Planning tools
- Installation Wizard
- On-line monitoring of air interface quality
- On-line monitoring of equipment alarms and QoS
- Local and remote loopback testing
- Configuration settings
- On-line user manual and help files
- Over-the-air software upgrades
The WinLink 1000 Manager can easily be integrated with any NMS system.
