How does venmak consistently deliver better projects-faster than anyone else?

We rely on our proven methodology to break down projects and engagements into small, manageable, and rapidly deliverable phases

Scoping Study

This phase is also called the concept or vision phase. The scoping study allows us to lay a framework for the project by defining functional requirements, assessing priorities, and coming to an understanding on the overall project approach. venmak Team conducts a series of meetings with the key executives from the client company to answer the following questions.

  • What is the vision for the project?
  • What are the requirements for this project?
  • What are the critical success factors?
  • What are the business drivers and benefits?
  • What is the process impact?

At the end of this phase the venmak team will hand over the following deliverables:

  • Vision and critical success factors
  • Requirements matrix showing project phasing and milestones
  • High-level technical architecture
  • High-level interface and conversion plan
  • High-level implementation plan

Design

During the Design phase the venmak team develops a detailed design for the system, user interface, reporting functions, system integration, and technical architecture components.

At the end of this phase the venmak team will hand over the following deliverables:

  • High-level design
  • Low-level design
  • Detailed Technical Architecture
  • Screen and Report Specifications
  • Interface Specifications
  • Overall Testing and Roll-out Plan

Development and Testing

The venmak team develops and unit-tests the components specified during the concept phase, including the application and database, reports, data migration programs, and interface programs.

At the end of this phase the venmak team will hand over the following deliverables:

  • Fully developed application that conforms to specifications
  • Documented plans and results for System, User, and Operational tests
  • Updated design specifications

Deployment and Knowledge Transfer

This final phase ensures that the project is fully deployed and all knowledge of the project is transferred from the venmak development team to the client.

At the end of this phase the venmak team will hand over the following deliverables:

  • Comprehensive Technical and End User documentation
  • Trained client IT teams who can maintain the system independently

Business Models

Global Delivery Model

The key to venmak's business savvy and budget friendly service offerings is a distributed project management methodology called the Global Delivery Model. This model divides projects into components that are executed independently and simultaneously - part at the customer site and the rest at the remote development center. These components are integrated into robust, high-quality solutions.Spreading development across time zones allows customers to benefit from 24-hour workdays. The model also ensures that the project manager is in total control, regardless of the physical location.

Waterfall Model

This life-cycle model demands a systematic, sequential approach to software development that begins at the Customer's software requirements and progresses through analysis, design, coding, testing and post development warranty and is considered an ideal choice when the user's software requirements are clearly stated at the inception of the project.

Object Oriented Model

Each Object Oriented Development Project that is taken up by venmak may go through all or some of the phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) defined by venmak's QMS procedures. This methodology is used to define the activities and work products for each phase and in projects where the development tasks arrive as work packets. The phases of execution, the associated work products, verification and validation criteria for each of the relevant phases shall be at par with this methodology.

Prototyping Model

This methodology defines a mechanism to handle concept building and / or prototyping projects and is used by venmak in complex projects in order to understand requirements better, to reduce design risks and to share the user interface with the Customer. Concept building projects are typically of an R&D type, where the goal is to arrive at an optimal solution based on a short description of requirements by the Customer. 'Throwaway' or 'Evolutionary' prototyping (Spiral Model) are used depending on whether the model would be discarded after use or would be adapted after use until it eventually evolves into the product.

Incremental Model

The Incremental model of development is an evolutionary model that combines the elements of the linear sequential model (Waterfall model) and the iterative philosophy of Prototyping and is considered ideal for a project that is complex by nature having large business components and interfaces with third party business applications, requiring high availability, and tight security. It also helps in managing the technology risks by spreading the risk across successive increments. This unique methodology has the distinct advantage of getting developed, quality assured and demonstrable functionality at the end of each iteration, which can be improved upon with successive iterations to get the desired functionality. In other words, early increments are "stripped down" versions of the final product, but they do provide capability that serves the user and also provide a platform for evaluation by the user.
In the Project lifecycle, we use tools which facilitate or effectively document the following activities,:

  • Project Management and Planning (PMP)
  • Configuration Management (CM) & Version Controlling
  • System Architecture Design
  • Automated Testing
  • Bug Management

Business Models

venmak offers two distinct project models to suit your needs.

Fixed–Price Model

This model delivers projects on a fixed schedule, at a pre–set price.

venmak development team analyzes your requirements and drafts a project plan that clearly identifies intermediate milestones, final deliverables, and all corresponding deadlines. The project is then executed at one of our development centers, or, if needed, by placing a venmak team right in your office.

A fixed–price model is best when your project is well–defined with clear boundaries.

The benefits of this model:

  • Reduced risk through a guaranteed cost and concrete deadlines
  • More control in scheduling your larger business goals
  • Assured zero cost–overruns—unless you decide to add functionality to the project

Retainer–based Model

This is the model to choose if you have on–going development needs.

venmak organizes and trains an expect team based on your specifications. This team will work out of  our development center as your sole technology group, or in tandem with your in–house development team. You set the necessary skills, goals, and timelines, while venmak handles operational issues such as hiring, training, and management.

A retainer–based model works best when your project has no clear boundaries, or when you prefer to retain a consistent team to develop a continuing stream of projects.

The benefits of this model:

  • An increased resource base that extends your company's ability to take on large projects.
  • Rapid scalability—on a temporary basis if necessary
  • Lowered development overhead and reduced operating costs
